MckLinky Monday -Ultimate Vacation

For today's MckLinky Monday the ladies of the RHOK want to know what's your ultimate dream vacation?

Well, ever since I was little I've wanted to go here:
Yep -Disneyworld ! If I was going on a family vacation this seems like 1 of the ultimate spots-It is happiest place on earth right?!

Of course it would also be nice to go somewhere tropical -I've always wanted to take a family vacation here: Hawaii -A nice tropical vacation spot without needing passports! I know how Brady Bunch of me ;) -I guess these are a bit cliche'

But,honestly if I wanted a super nice and relaxing vacation -I'm thinking more a tropical-romantic spot with the hubby -Anyone watch the Bachelorette in Tahiti? Now -that looked nice! -See:

There's actually lots of places I'd love to visit that our on my "Bucket List" -As I've heard visiting the D.C. area in the spring to see the blooming cherry blossoms and not too mention-The White House,The Smithsonian, and plenty of other famous sights. Sometime taking a visit to NYC -Maybe in the autumn ?-Seeing Central Park and such. And of course a European vacation would be nice sometime too- Seeing the Eiffel tower,Roman ruins,Stonehenge,Scotland and/or Ireland-etc.

As you can tell -It's kinda hard to pick 1 specific vacation - Pretty much I'd be happy with any place with scenic views/sights to see, and a place to relax (maybe a spa where I can get a massage and other spoils ;)

Now how about you?

Check this out !

So, I might've mentioned a few times that I write on Examiner.com hopefully you've checked out my articles Hint-Hint ;) I have a button on the sidebar you can click to see my articles - And now there's another easy way to get updates and keep up with my articles -I've created a Facebook Page! -Look for Tulsa Frugal Family Examiner (click the link :)

Yeah I've debated about setting up a FB page for it and I finally did! -Of course when you go through setting up a page there's all kinds of categories and I didn't exactly know what to pick -Now that I think about it probably instead of "public figure" maybe should've picked "website" -anyone know if I can change that without starting over? Anyways I'd really appreciate any and all of you to "Like" my facebook page -Okay -Thanks in advance and have a good weekend!

MckLinky Monday -What room are you most comfortable in ?

Today the ladies of RHOK are taking a fun quiz from blogthings and finding out -What room of the house are you most comfortable in?
And here's my results:
The Living Room - You're the type of person who always feels relaxed at home. In many ways,it's where you're at your best. You love to chill out at home. You're not the biggest homebody in the world, but you appreciate the time you spend there. There's nothing like having friends over to watch a movie or just talk in your living room. You love to share the home you created with others.

I pretty much agree with this I'm not a complete homebody but, I do love to hang out in the living room -It is pretty much the hub of the household around here which is good but, then again it can get kinda messy with toys -etc ;)

Be sure to visit the RHOK ,see what your results are and join in the MckLinky Monday Fun!

Unexpected Visitors

Seems we probably all have people that are friends or family that we just don't see that often -Of course back in the day you might hear things through the grapevine or talk to them every so often -Nowadays more than likely you might be facebook friends with them.
Like my high school friend even though we don't live that far apart it can be hard to get together -with kids, work schedule, and you know life in general. So,it was nice to get a call from her last weekend when she was in town and for her to stop by for a bit -Even if I was just kinda getting around and maybe not quite ready for visitors -But, she's the kind of friend who's seen it all -The good, bad, and the ugly -just getting up and around look ;)
And then this weekend my cousin who lives quite a few states away and that I literally haven't seen in years happened to be this way for a visit. It was nice to see her and some other family from that side at an impromptu BBQ. Of course I know part of the reason for the impromptu-ness having to keep some people separate(her mom & dad) -A whole big can of worms that I won't fully open here :P
Anyways nonetheless it's kinda nice to have these kind of unexpected visitors - I've had some pretty good weekends lately :)

Wordless Wednesday

As previously mentioned we went across the state and visited the in-laws over the 4th of July weekend -Lawton to be exact. I wanted to share some pictures of what Lawton is like - and as the sign says Lawton/ Ft. Sill -it is a military town. There's also the Wichita Mountains /Wildlife Refuge and the Mattie Beal Home as far as Lawton attractions. Of course since I did live there for awhile -it also means where my daughter was born, where I met and married my husband, and where some family lives- Yep that is Lawton - Happy Wordless Wednesday :)

MckLinky Monday -Strange Remedies

Today on the RHOK the ladies want to know - What's your strange remedies ?
You know I can't think of a lot of strange ones - Mostly just the usual Vitamin C /drinking OJ; Gargling with warm salt water- I've also heard of some kind of hot sauce concotion for a sore throat.
I'm sure my Gma would know more -She's told me before for acne she would grind up aspirin and make a paste to put on but, I'm not too keen on going around with an aspirin paste all the time =P
And of course like I learned from my dad -Duct Tape fixes everything -Right? ;)

Wordless Wednesday -our 4th of July

For our 4th of July weekend we didn't exactly go over the bridge and through the woods to gma's house -But, we did travel across the state to gma's (my in-law's). And these are just a few pics from our time there :)

Mcklinky Monday - Freedom

Today on the RHOK - they've got Freedom on the brain being right after 4th of July and all. But, they want to take a stroll down memory lane and ask - What was your 1st taste of freedom? When did you actually get it? Will you do things differently than your parents?

Well, living with my dad he wasn't very strict - I felt pretty free to roam around the neighborhood as a kid. We'd ride our bikes all over-played with the neighbor kids, and as a tween maybe even got to sneak a kiss with the neighbor boy ;)
Even outside our neighborhood I felt pretty free - if we were out at the cabin in the woods -shooting arrows or other such trouble with my cousin-etc. Even as I got older I still felt free to run around with my friends -but, did feel a bit stifled when it seemed like everyone had a car except me(In my best pouty teen voice ;) When I finally did get a car and especially when I got my own place is when I actually had freedom I suppose though.
And as far as would I do things differently? - Well, I already do - I'm pretty much the typical over-protective mom -though I try not to be sometimes. And I guess we'll see how it goes as the kids get older ?? :)

The Friday Five

There haven't been as many TV shows to watch since it's summer -But, there are a few I've been enjoying. And that is today's Friday Five - 5 TV shows I've been watching lately :

1.
America's Got Talent -You know I love an entertaining Reality Show -and it's generally something the whole family can watch - Except has anyone noticed there's usually some crazy person who thinks they can go on stage and just take off their clothes or something for a "talent" ?! -Usually a crazy guy or maybe the occasional burlesque woman.

2.
And speaking of reality shows -I've been watching the Bachelorette. This time it's with Ali -the all-American gal who was on the previous Bachelor. I was a little suspicious of "the wrestler" but, started to think maybe he was there for the right reasons -But, now it's out - he was there to promote his wrestling and had a girlfriend or 2 ?! Ugh I guess that goes to my theory -you can't trust a Justin -No, I never had a boyfriend named Justin or anything but, seems all the Justins I've known are troublemakers (my family has alot of J names and thought if I were to follow that -I would not use Justin ;)

3. Gotta love the Real Housewives (all of them) and right now it's the ladies of NJ that have the floor. But, now Dina is out because of all the Danielle drama -and speaking of that -is the next episode finally going to be the 1 they've been teasing us with -where police -etc. are involved? I'll be watching to see what happens ;)

4. Also on the Real Housewives front -Bethenny getting Married ? - Even though we know it's not a question mark since she has in fact gotten married and had her baby girl-Finally Bethenny is getting it all. And it looks like the next episode will be the actual wedding -How exciting!

5. The only non-reality show on this list -Have I mentioned that I love reality shows?! ;) I thought I would like this show -even though the opening scene was hard to watch -It is definitely suspenseful! It's about a group of strangers who awaken in a deserted town and are being watched by cameras -attempts to leave are thwarted by mysterious forces. Remind you of something? It's kinda filling my Lost void right now ;) I can't wait to see what it's all about -They say all will be revealed by the end of summer!

So,anyone else out there been watching any of these ? Thoughts?

Well, that's it for today's Friday 5 - Have a Happy 4th of July weekend!
